In honour of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we are taking time to recognize some of the extraordinary women among us here at Raspberry Press. These five women have contributed their time, voice, and stories to us, each in a unique way, and we know that is worth celebrating. Read on to find out more about the way Marie Edwards, Megan Wain, Minal Yaghi, Pamela Thompson and Cheryl Fountain, have contributed to Raspberry Press and their community at large.

Marie Edwards is a dedicated researcher, author, and historian whose passion for family history led to the creation of Pierre’s Song. Through 25 years of research, Marie uncovered the rich and complex story of the Beaupré family, tracing their journey from New France in 1620 to their contributions in Quebec, Upper Canada, and Ontario. Marie told us, "I started my journey researching my family tree on and off for over 25 years. When it was time, I hired a co-writer and completed the process as editor. One step simply flowed into the next. I am currently working on my next book and looking forward to what the future may hold.” Marie is a shining example of how women contribute to preserving history, ensuring that the stories of those who came before us are never forgotten.

Megan Wain is an author and environmentalist whose passion for storytelling and nature came together in her debut book, The High-Baller’s Ballad. Her book is a rhyming tall tale set in the rugged world of Canadian tree planting—a demanding yet deeply rewarding profession that she knows firsthand. As told by Megan, "I’m a writer and environmentalist, and my vision is to combine the two to tell vibrant, fun stories that encourage environmentally friendly actions. My first book features a strong female lead excelling in the tough and wild profession of tree planting.” Through her writing, Megan not only entertains but also inspires readers to embrace the great outdoors and take action to protect our environment.

Minal Yaghi is the author of A Path to Ignite the Light Within—a powerful book that blends personal journey with spiritual wisdom, guiding readers toward balance, clarity, and self-awareness. Minal has said that, "Writing has been a lifelong dream since I was 11 years old. I always envisioned sharing a book that would touch hearts and inspire souls. Now, that dream is becoming a reality, and I couldn’t be more grateful." As a Reiki Master Teacher, Breath Coach, and Akashic Practitioner, she has dedicated her life to helping others reconnect with their inner light. Through her own transformation, she discovered the profound healing power of spiritual practices like Reiki, meditation, and breath-work. Now, through her book, she hopes to inspire others to embark on their own paths of healing and self-discovery. When she’s not writing, Minal is creating sacred spaces for others through Reiki training, mindful meditation classes, and sound bath sessions. Her mission? To help others find peace, purpose, and the courage to embrace their true selves.

Pamela Thompson: Recognized globally as a leader, Pamela is a best-selling author, and leadership and transition coach and consultant. With experience working on five continents—including in conflict zones—she has dedicated her career to fostering positive change through global health, management consulting, and international development. She is the founder of Female Wave of Change Canada, a national non-profit dedicated to building a more equitable and sustainable world through the power of feminine leadership. She is also the creator of the "Art of Change Framework," a transformative process that helps women at a crossroads embrace change and unlock new possibilities. Pamela enjoys being in nature, travelling, and inspiring audiences through experiential workshops, podcast guest appearances, and speaking engagements.

Cheryl Fountain: Last, but certainly not least, is our very own Cheryl Fountain. Cheryl is not only an award-winning author and publisher, but also the CEO of Raspberry Press. She has dedicated her life to storytelling, and through her work is empowering others to share their voices with the world.
From a young age, Cheryl dreamed of becoming a writer, and she turned that dream into reality. Today, she is the author of six children’s books, a poetry collection, and an assertive communication book, each one inspiring readers of all ages. Through Raspberry Press, she helps aspiring authors bring their stories to life, making self-publishing more accessible to those with a passion for storytelling. Her mission is to support, uplift, and guide others on their journey to becoming published authors. Her passion for literature, books, and helping others shines through in everything she does.

We are grateful to these women for trusting us with their words, wisdom, and collaborative efforts. It has been an honour to share in the publishing process with them, and we are thrilled to watch each one continue spreading light and inspiration to those around them. Please join us in celebrating these women—and the women around you—for Women’s History Month.
